Arts on the Lawn 2024

Meet us every Wednesday at 6PM on the lawn in front of the Pacific Spirit United Church Memorial Centre. (Or downstairs in inclement weather - too hot or too rainy or too waspy). Enjoy a meal and an art project - or just come for the camaraderie.  ($5-7 donations to offset the costs are gratefully accepted but are not required and should not be a barrier to your attendance.) July 3: Chili and Cello Come for the food, stay for the music - Paul Westwick performing. July 10: Messy Night It's spaghetti and Jackson Pollock-style painting so DRESS DOWN! July 17: Flowers and Dogs Calling all gardeners! Even if you can't attend the event, your flowers can! Contact Heather Swallow if you can spare some blooms from your garden. Arrange for pickup or bring them to the church at or before 6 pm. Irene Cretu will provide tips on flower arranging.  Chili dogs for dinner. Christmas Decor Giveaway

Hello Pacific Spirit United Church folks! As you know, the gymnasium is in disrepair and is no longer a place where we can store things. Among the things we have no storage space for are Christmas Fayre and other Christmas decorations. We have a few trees, tree holders, a number of ornaments, several manger scenes, some of which need a little TLC but would be great in someone's home, and a variety of craft materials, baskets, and odds and ends. You may have stored away your Christmas things already, but you would be doing us a favour if you could supplement your decorations with these baubles that may hold fond memories of Christmas celebrations gone by - or perhaps "a creche from the church" will become part of your traditions. Below are a few pictures to give you a sense of what is available.  This event is postponed until we are able to gather together.   Please do continue to register your interest with John Maclachlan and Heather Swallow if you would like to share your musical or other talents.  This event is hosted by John Maclachlan and will take place in the sanctuary. In past years we have had music, dance, poetry, quilts, storytelling, Pictionary, meditative collage, and even ping-pong! All talents welcome! We will find a way to put your gifts on display.
